NEVER A COWARD UNTO DEATH - Great Piece on Suicide

Sometimes life throws punches at me.
Tomorrow life faces you,
bringing to your doorstep lies, pain, regrets, failure, scars, and losses.
Another day, fortune doesn't smile at him.
It's her turn, light no longer illuminates her world.
We all are laden, and we thirst for comfort and relief.
You mourn your loss.
She weeps for her failure.
I yell at my fears.

But, he must not cry for he is a man.
Tears are for the weaklings, women and the effeminate, these he was told.
She is betrayed by her long time lover who had promised her heaven on earth.
Your multi-million naira investment crumbles over night.

I fail at my final exams, now, I have extra year.
His life becomes a nightmare since he was diagnosed of a life wrecking disease.
No daily booster to keep life moving anymore.
All becomes bleak for there is no sunshine.
Life mocks and laughs at you for you've become an object of ridicule.
Your life becomes miserable and turbulent.
Life has won you thought.

Depression creeps in like a stranger.
Life is no longer at ease as you expected.
Her inner strength has bade her goodbye.
No one cares about me-they laugh at my predicament.
You're uncertain you want this breath anymore.
Fear grips you and you listen to your own lies.
In your hand, some toxic substance to swallow.
Life must end at all cost.

Suicide, an option?
The reality is this-life happens to everyone:
the old,the young, the famous, the unknown, the rich, the poor, man and woman.
When life throws punches at you -suicide is not the option!
When life weighs us down -suicide is not the remedy we yearn for.

Suicide never solves our problems. It neither gives us rest nor comforts us.
It stinks and sucks out the juicy life in us.
It leaves our loved ones bereaved
and it forms wound that might not heal in them.

Suicide is not a sign of bravery but that of shame and guilt.
Alas, when you're gone because of your losses, regrets, scars, shame, fears and guilt, these challenges will laugh at your lifeless body and call you COWARD.

Never be a coward unto death!
Face life's issues squarely, fiercely and doggedly.
Suicide is not the option.
Are you depressed? Weary? Downcast? Rejected? Humiliated? Downgraded?
Crush your fears instead.

Talk to someone trusted today, and seek help,
Someone truly cares more than you know and feel,
Let my voice be heard,
This is my outcry.

Never take your life,
In it lies potentials yet untapped and hidden treasure.
Tears are not signs of being weak.
Say NO to suicide.
There's always light at the end of the tunnel.
Boom! There is hope for you today.
A voice says, Suicide is not and will never be an option!

Great men are people that think out of the box. They are not necessarily geniuses, but become greater than geniuses, because they utilize their potentials; discovering their potentials and maximizing them. Great men don't just pray as some others do, but they pray and work alongside. It's amazing how some people spend most time praying but work less. God is dependable but we must be responsible. Its alarming how some people go to worship centers, spend all their time there, banging the windows of Heaven and expect miracles to happen. Its really alarming how irresponsible some sects of people are becoming in this age and dispensation. Instead of utilizing the gifts, talents and potentials God has given them to prosper, they depend seek the Hands of God instead of the Face of God concerning their well-being. When you seek the Hand of God expect to see signs, wonders and miracles, but when you seek the Face of God expect to see solutions to your life's situations. And God wants us to seek His Face and not His Hands.

Yes, of course, there's a place for prayer. Great men pray but never neglect the place of thinking and hard work. You know, I've spent a large aspect of my life studying success, how to become successful and especially studying successful people. An important aspect of what i learnt about them is that they turned hard work into habit that they must do frequently. I so much love this definition of habit: "Habit is a settled or regular tendency or practice, especially one that is hard to give up." That is awesome. Great men work hard to the extent that they find it hard to give up on hard work, because hard work takes you to high places.

The real essence of Education is to help individuals discover and develop their potentials. It wasn't meant to put you into confusion.

Unfortunately, people pass through schools, through our so-called "Educational System" today and still come out more confused about their lives. It was not meant to be so!
Any Education (System of learning) that is not geared towards helping you discover and develop your potential is not Education but "Complication".

Education should help you discover "the real you" and help you develop; investing into you the necessary pieces of information and knowledge, with the aim of "Upgrading" you to the standard of your potential...

I tell you the truth; "the degree to which you are educated can affect your effectiveness in fulfilling your purpose". You must be armed with "Accurate and Targeted knowledge" that is poised with the goal of preparing you specifically in line with the potential that lies within you.

In order not to complicate people's lives in the name of education, it is necessary for us to acknowledge that every individual has a unique line of education he must undergo, which could or necessarily would be different from that of another individual. This is because; potentials vary from individual to individual. People may have similar traits but they can never be the same.

Every "Human being" and I mean it when I say "Every Human being" has a unique purpose and potential. We are obligated to work as a team, but, we all have different potential differences, which are uniquely quantified; no matter how small or big. This determines the unique role every individual would have to play, to achieve a common goal.

The role of the Schooling is that; it is to play a major role in helping an individual develop his/her potential, through enlightening and empowering him/her in their given line of education, which is; targeted towards evolving the Uniqueness within them.

Take for instance: An individual who is carrying a potential that can bring about an "Innovative concepts in Music", such that he was meant to create a new genre of music never known before: it would be a colossal disaster if such an individual never had any form of training, teaching or mentorship in the line of music but was busy pursuing other things that have no power to empower him with the "Musical prowess" needed for his manifestation. Disregarding this, was equal to "denying his potentials", the necessary diets and nourishment it needs to develop. Giving him the knowledge that would have no relevance to this purpose is wickedness.

It would be wickedness for you to pass all men through a stereotyped kind of learning when each individual carries his own Uniqueness. It would be wickedness to streamline the minds of individuals towards a general perspective. This is a major killer of creativity.

We have such a poor system of developing minds in this Dispensation, because; we have made a mockery of the need to give specialized Knowledge to individual minds in accordance with their purpose. Forcing a child or a man, to go to school just to gain certificates in just anything, in order to get a job is a very wicked thing.

Every child must be given a chance to discover himself so he can pattern his Education in line with the discovery of himself.

This is why we can't underestimate the kind of Education that has to do with "Mentorship".
Mentorship is very key and powerful, as it has the power to teach and build people accurately. Through Mentorship from an individual, you can quickly discover yourself through; certain characteristics and trait you find in a mentor as a protege. Mentorship clarifies vision and Inspires hope. It gives hope by painting a picture of hope to the younger generation...

Through Mentorship, you are given a "clue" or an "expo" as to the things to work on yourself, to bring about the evolution of your potential.

The classroom system of learning is not as effective as "Mentorship". People get to learn faster and discover themselves easily when they are tutored through the "system of Mentorship"... This because; in Mentorship, you are permitted to be specific and intentional in the choice of leadership that mentors you. Through this, you can get accustomed to several Infrastructures that can equip you for your purpose.

I will advise that; Mentorship as a mode of Education, be adopted, and also, seen as a very key method of building potentials...

It's quite unfortunate that;  our generation does not value "Mentorship". A Mentorship system of Education sees you to an end until you are productive in the area you desire to be.

In the conventional schooling system, learning ends at the end of the semester or term, as long as the supposed curriculum have been treated. This is not effective enough to encourage Proper Education.

There are other modes of Education that must be Embraced especially in a country like ours to enhance development and in a bid to engage the minds of the people. We would look at some of them as time goes by. Mentorship is one of themBut, I would love to emphasize that: "going to school was not meant to reproduce another person, but it was meant to produce you; your real personality!"

Strive for the real you... Don't let anyone put you in a cage called the classroom. Seek to find yourself beyond the classroom... And you will get to love yourself the more and also appreciate the wealth inherent within your being.

Love you!

Your need for sleep and your sleep patterns change as you age, so this varies significantly across different age groups. There is no specified number of number of hours to sleep per-day, so there are helpful speculations.

For instance, it is helpful for youths to sleep nothing more than 6-7 hours per day because, this is a period of life that determines how they'll spend their adulthood (either in poverty or in wealth).

Babies initially sleep as much as 16 to 18 hours per day, why, this will their boost growth and development (especially of the brain). And also, they don't have stuffs to worry about as they would when they grow up to be youths and adults. So, sleeping is like a job for them to develop their brains for the future tasks ahead.

While sleep for adults determine how they spend their youthful age. Unfortunately, when an adult wastes his youthful age sleeping, clubbing and doing little or nothing about his future, he'll spend his adulthood hustling after he's forced out of his parents house to fend for himself. So then, he'll start sleeping less and working more when his mates that hustled and slept less in their youths are doing vise versa.

Reports instead suggests that the secret to a long life lies in getting just enough sleep, which ends up being about 6.5 hours per night.

However, if you actually track the amount of time that people sleep using an actigraphy, most people sleep between 6.5 and 7 hours per night. Research supporting the need for at least 8 hours of sleep per night does not exist.

In general, people are getting less sleep than they need due to longer work hours and the availability of round-the-clock entertainment and other activities.

It was reported that kids' nightly sleep time has reduced by three-quarters of a minute for each year they studied. This should not be a surprising fact. As technology has taken over, and children are often over-scheduled, playing video games, watching TV and using iPads at night, bed times appear to slowly get pushed later and later.

So in summary, I always suggest, we need to make sure our kids (school-age children and teens) are getting the sleep they need to grow both mentally and physically, which is about 8-10 hours, to get adequate rest and balanced state of mind for their school endeavours and other helpful engagements. While the youths keep focused, because this is the prime stage of life, there is no spare life anywhere like spare tyres, so make the most of out this one life.

Sleep is an important part of your daily routine. In fact, it is important and essential as food and water. Without sleep it is difficult to concentrate and maintain balance.  it is harder to generate new memories when you lack sleep. You may have new ideas that you want to execute, but lack of sleep will make you ineffective and lackadaisical in executing them. Therefore, good sleep can improve your concentration and productivity.

But, as important as sleep is, moderacy should be applied to it. When a man sleeps for 8 hours and above everyday without exception, it is questionable. Because that's not the pathway to success and fulfillment. Sleeping for 8 hours everyday as a routine is more or less a bad habit, and isn't a habit of highly successful and impactful people. I have not seen any great man with a routine of 8 hours and above sleep schedule. And if there is, friends, such greatness is questionable, in fact, that's not greatness but mere fame. Greatness is different from fame. All great men are famous, but not all famous men are great. There are several, countless famous people people on earth, but we know, not all are known as impact makers. Don't thrive to be known just for your achievements, thrive to  make impact.

Of course, you know I'm not encouraging you to lack sleep. I cherish my sleeping time alot. It's always a special time for me. And as I said earlier, it is harder to generate new memories when you lack sleep. But do you know, it's not the quantity of sleep that matters, but  the quality. Research shows that a chronic lack of sleep, or getting poor quality sleep, increases the risk of disorders including high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, depression, and obesity. So, you can sleep for 9-10 hours and still not get the best of sleeps. Good, healthy sleep means feeling rested upon waking. It means not having chronic bad dreams or nightmares.

Now, to the heart of the matter, as a youth, if you sleep for 8 hours, how many hours will you spend sleeping when you're old, 10-12? You see, if from the age of 18-30 you don't know your purpose in life, you are behind schedule. Now, at that age range, if you don't know your purpose, when will you now start working towards it. You can't work towards a purpose that is not discovered. How will you be comfortable sleeping for hours when you've not discovered your purpose? Others are working towards their purpose but you're sleeping. Others slept for 5-6 hours because they have a sense of urgency and are tired of the status quo but you're sleeping. Wake up and work. Yes! I am motivating you! Wake up, work. Take responsibility. There's alot to do.

There are times, I couldn't sleep well because I seriously have burdens in my heart. There are impacts I want to make. There are books to write. There are articles to write. There are videos to watch. There are movies to watch. There are books to read. There are people to meet. There are things to learn. There are skills to acquire. You'll never get to your destination as a 'layman'. You must be equipped.

Toxic simply means poisonous or dangerous. Toxic people are very dangerous people, and if they are kept around for too long you will no doubt feel repentant. Don't be loyal to the toxic people around you. I can't imagine being loyal to someone that discourages me, I dare not be loyal to someone that poisons my mind and thriving mindset. They never add to one's success in life but instead can leave you shattered, battered, scattered and tattered.

NOTE: Watch out for the "narcissistic" toxic person. They will demand your undivided attention and attempt to convince you that you need to join their group. According to them they know better than you. They’re always right; you’re wrong. And you need to do what they say, or else... This kind of toxic person will think nothing of invading your space and may try to isolate you from others you are close to, especially those that have positive mindset like you do. They venomous and will poison your good intentions.

Toxic people are manipulative. They use other people to accomplish whatever their aim is. It's not about you but about them, no equality in relationship. It’s all about them. Their modus operandi is to get people to do what they want them to do. They are not caring, supportive, or interested in what’s important to you. In fact, the good things that happen to you move the attention away from them and thwart them from focusing on their own goals. Beware of people who find fault with you and make you wrong. Loyalty is foreign to them. They are also judgmental.
They don't apologize. They don’t see any reason to, because things are always someone else’s fault. In many instances, although they try to orchestrate relationships to serve their own ends, they try to gain sympathy and attention by claiming “victim” status.

Toxic people often make you want to fix them and their problems. They want you to feel sorry for them, and responsible for what happens to them. Yet their problems are never really solved, for once you’ve helped them with one crisis, there’s inevitably another one. What they really want is your ongoing sympathy and support, and they will create one drama after another in order to get it. “Fixing” and “saving” them never works, especially since you probably care more about what happens to them than they do.

They take no responsibility for their own feelings. Rather, their feelings are projected onto you. If you try to point this out to them, they will likely vehemently defend their perspective, and take no responsibility for almost anything they do.

They are inconsistent. It’s hard to know who you’re with at any given time because they are often not the same person. They may change their perspective, attitude, and behavior depending on what they feel they need to accomplish or what they want to have happen. And they know how to be kind when they want something from you.

They make you prove yourself to them. Toxic people make you choose them over someone else, or something they want over something you want. Often, this turns into a “divide and conquer” dynamic in which the only choice is them, even to the point of requiring you to cut off other meaningful relationships to satisfy them. They make you defend yourself and wont defend you. They focus on problems, not solutions.

Toxic people are draining; encounters leave you emotionally wiped out. Time with them is about taking care of their business, which will leave you feeling frustrated and unfulfilled, if not angry. Don’t allow you to become depleted as a result of giving and giving and getting nothing in return. At first, you may feel for them and their plight but once you observe that every interaction is negatively charged you may want to limit your contact with them, or maybe even cut ties. Your time and energy are essential for your own life. Don’t be overly willing to give them away.

Instead of comparing yourself to others, differentiate yourself. You will never become irreplaceable doing what everyone else does. When you take more action and think bigger than those around you, you start becoming more valuable. You must give up something and sacrifice to get to the next level. Figure out what makes you different from your competitors. Criss Jami said, "When you're the only sane person, you look like the only insane person". You see, when you're different, people can see you in a clear manner. Albert Einstein, "The person who follows the crowd will usually go no further than the crowd. The person who walks alone is likely to find himself in places no one has ever seen before." Being different doesn't mean you don't speak with other people or build relationships - you'll get more light on this in the next point.

The term relationship is rooted from the word 'relation' and is defined as a a mutual affiliation or connection between individuals or groups of people. Relationships are built where there is mutual understanding between or among individuals. Human beings are naturally social creatures – we crave friendship and positive interactions, just as we do food and water. So it makes sense that the better our relationships are at work, the happier and more productive we're going to be.

Building relationships involves;
Giving people your time. Devoting a portion of your time can go a long way, even if it's 15-20 minutes you could spear. You can take time to visit, or ask a colleague out for a quick cup of coffee or launch. You can also take time to reply to people's messages/postings on LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms of yours.
- Practice active listening. Listening more effectively to when you talk to your customers and colleagues. People respond to those who truly listen to what they have to say. Focus on listening more than you talk, and you'll quickly become known as someone who can be trusted.
- Avoid gossipingGood working relationships give us several benefits; our work is more enjoyable when we have good relationships with those around us.
Learning to give and take feed backs.

Good relationships are also often necessary if we hope to develop our careers. After all, if your boss doesn't trust you, it's unlikely that he or she will consider you when a new position opens up. Overall, we all want to work with people we're on good terms with. Also, good relationships with your customers goes a long way to being irreplaceable. Imagine you weren't around at your work place for sometime, you'll surely be noted by everyone especially your customers if you've built good relationships. In fact, your customers might go ahead to ask and question the organisation about your absence at work. Customers, suppliers and key stakeholders are all essential to our success. So, it's important to build and maintain good relations with these people.

Irreplaceable employees think about how to grow the company constantly. They suggest improvements on everything, then, they act on these suggestions and show the results. Irreplaceable employees understand that the status quo is not good enough and they strive and thrive to be one step ahead of what’s going on. Because you get to your work place earlier than everyone else and leave late does not mean you are irreplaceable. You must add value to be irreplaceable. It's easy talking about value than to practice adding value. When you are invaluable people will pay dearly for an experience that helps them get more of what they want out of life. For instance, Neymar Jr, one of the most skillful and entertaining footballers in the world transferred to Paris Saint Germain in France for a world record that still stands firm because his pattern of play and skillfulness made him valuable, and very difficult to replace, even at national level in the Brazil national team.

ARE YOU THRIVING OR STRIVING - Facts About Thriving and Striving

Absolute Dependency on God

Thrive simply means to develop well or blossom. It means to flourish and prosper in whatever one does. When a person is said to be thriving, he is growing vigorously and blooming, doing well in his endeavours and making strides with successful results.

To strive means to struggle or fight vigorously. It means to make great efforts to achieve or obtain something. A person is striving when he tries hard to achieve something. Striving means to toil, labour and give one’s all to achieve one’s aim. Striving is to strain one’s self and devote serious effort to make something happen especially for a long time.

Mahatma Gandhi said, “The difference between what we do, and what we are capable of doing, would solve most of the world’s problems." There is a big difference between thriving and striving. When a man exerts himself and spares no effort or energy just to achieve something he is simply striving. Now, to the point, most people that solely rely on the government are striving and unfortunately will continue to strive. People that thrive are people that are hungry for improvement and are tired of the status quo, they believe that there's got to be more, than just sitting and relying on the government instead of changing things and making positive impacts.

One major thing I love about people that thrive is that they don't lean on the government to succeed. In fact, the government love them and wants to spend time with them. Examples of these sets of people are categorized as the Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), Inter-Governmental Organisations (IGOs), and especially Private Individuals, among several other impact makers that are hungry to make impact and tired of sitting to watch some so-called 'magic' that the government will perform. Lots of government across the planet make promises upon promises called manifesto and doing little or nothing.

My love for creative people. My love for people that show that they have great potentials to change their world. A great mentor of mine, Myles Munroe wrote books on the subject 'Potential', and I will love you get a copy each; Discovering your potentials, Releasing your potentials and Maximizing your potentials. I can tell you, if you realize you have a potential and an idea comes to you, please work on it. Don't let it flip away, because when it does, that idea might not come to you again. And in fact, the next time you might hear about such idea another person will have started working on it and you will wonder, 'I once had an idea but now its being executed by another individual.' God is not bias and doesn't waste His resources. God is a God of ideas and He has lots of resources to carry them out.

A thriving mindset is defined by continually challenging oneself towards progressing and developing. While a striving mindset is not necessarily progressing, but labouring, straining, toiling, struggling and fighting. This is actually a call to upgrade yourself from a 'striver' to a 'thriver'. Thriving is not being satisfied. A 'thriver' wants to be a better person; be a better spouse, parent, child, student, and friend, being more supportive or just being there more. Challenging yourself to have a better career, being more fulfilled, being more rewarded. Challenging yourself individually to constantly question who you are and whether this is in line with who you want to be.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to continually improve aspects of your life, it is just important to be aware of what is most important to you. I think everyone has the potential in them to be better. Wanting to do so is the first step, doing the little things necessary to get there is what thriving is all about.

Though, taking this steps aren't as easy as it seems, but it takes that 'extra' to become 'extraordinary'. It won't be easy to start working on that idea, sometimes you might be scared to begin but do it and don't let fear step in. 'Fear of failure' has caused lots and lots of people to be eventual failures in life. It's better to start it and fail than to be neutral, because, at least you've learnt something you did not know before and in fact what you learnt no one might be able to sit you down to teach you, but your experience as taught you, and you'll keep improving. NEVER GIVE UP! Yes start that business idea and stop day-dreaming and waiting for that government of yours.

GOD OF ALL FLESH - Part 1 - The Misconceptions Of God

I wanted to title this article "Who is God" but I had a change of my mind because the knowledge about God and His Personality cannot be totally exhausted. Daily we thrive in knowing God the more. But for this segment, The God of All Flesh (Pt 1), we will treat a very important topic, The Misconceptions About God.

It is heartbreaking and sad that most have such an inferior and ill conception of God. And day by day I hear people say several things about God and I feel like, "What did you just say!" Below I will list some misconceptions people have about God. See if it applies to you. This is to make people grow and change their paradigms about Who God is.

1. God is the Universe. This is a misconception and understatement about the splendor and magnificence of God. God created this world, so He can't be limited to the size of the world. Don't limit God to the size of this world. Let’s go higher in God and get out of the habit of confining God to a box, He’s much greater and better than we can ever imagine!

2. God is too holy for you to have a relationship with Him. Of a truth, you don’t have the slightest amount of holiness within you to even put you in the presence of God. Fine, God is too holy to behold sin but one of His utmost need is our relationship with Him. The only way that you are able to get to God is through Jesus, and His perfect blood. Jesus bridges the gap between you and God. Also, the Bible makes it abundantly clear that God created man and that He created him for His glory (Isaiah 43:7). We fulfill our purpose of glorifying God also by living our lives in relationship and faithful service to Him (1 Samuel 12:24John 17:4). God longs for a relationship with you.

3. God doesn’t like people who aren’t perfect and super religious. Wrong. that’s why Jesus died. And as long as you’re alive, you will never be perfect. Someone may say, Jesus says, we should be perfect as God in Heaven is perfect (Matthew 5:48). But when you read from verse 43 you'll know, in context "you are to be perfect" means "you are to love as God loves: without partiality". Paul wasn’t perfect either (Romans 7:15-25). Nevertheless, you have to press towards the mark of doing and being better each day (Philippians 3:13). The only one who will ever be perfect is God. Concerning religion, God seeks obedience and your love. Be spiritual, but not religious. Don't be so religious that you expect God’s presence in the form of fires, and wind, and earthquakes, yet you miss His still, small voice.

4. God is not necessary in your life for you to live. Bravo. How long can you hold your breath. The air that you breathe is not yours at all; it’s God’s: God breathed His breath into you (Genesis 2:7). Also, what did you eat and drink today? That food and water that you so unknowingly placed into your mouth today came to you, not from the store, not from your government, not from the local reservoir or your well, but from the rain water God sends down from heaven. That water sustains life and enables life to flourish. Having doubts about that? Well, go to a country where there is severe drought and lack of rain and see how long you survive (without clean water, without the agriculture that depends on water, and without the animals that depend on the agriculture or the water to drink). You would die of thirst, perhaps before you died of starvation. God is necessary in your life for your very survival (Matthew 6:25-34).

5. God doesn’t want you. He really does, and He invites you to turn unto Him and He will do the same to you ( Zechariah 1:3). God has specific thoughts for you and your life (Jeremiah 29:11). If you’re still having doubts about whether God wants to help you in life, God says, ‘Call unto me and I will answer…’ (Jeremiah 33:3).

6. God is untouchable and too far out there for Him to be real in your life. God is not untouchable. You may not see Him but can ultimately feel His Presence. You can have an encounter with Him. There are men that have encountered God. Besides, Jesus died on the cross. That gave you access to God’s throne, and the ability to go before Him with your prayers and supplications (Matthew 27:51).

These are few out of several other misconceptions about God.

Everything created on earth has a creator, and the creator has a creator. But God is the only Creator without a Creator.

In conclusion, the "god" whose plans can be thwarted is no "god" at all and should not be the object of our worship. I submit to you that our God is divine and infinite in everywhere and is not human in any way.
